On behalf of STC-Class of '90 we take great pleasure in notifying you of the completion of the first stage of our batch project - the renovation of the pavilion n tuck shop building, which we undertook on the request of our beloved alma mater; not because we had the means or resources in our hand at the time, but we were of the firm resolve that with the invaluable participation of the "Thomian Fraternity", that nothing would be impossible!

It is therefore right that YOU should be thanked FIRST for standing with us in this Herculean task, shoulder to shoulder, and we could not have achieved this without you; therefore we say THANK YOU!  

We completed this first phase of renovating the pavilion at an approximate cost of Rs.2.4m and formally handed it over to College at a "low key" ceremony on Sat 4th Apr 2009. You will find the pictures elsewhere on this site. We expect to have a grand opening ceremony on a much larger scale upon the completion of the entire project.

Therefore as we thank all of you, those from other batches and the wider Thomian community who came out in your numbers to assist us in this venture (without which this project would have still probably remained a "plan" only), it is our duty to make special mention of a few contributors who went that "extra mile" in completing this stage:

A special appreciation also goes to Murad, who was instrumental in designing of the concept and extending his services without any burden on our budget.  

HOWEVER fellow Thomians - the work is not complete yet! There's still room for you to come on board with us as we proceed to the next and final stage of this project; to complete the tuck-shop and Front area of the pavilion. We invite especially those who may have missed the opportunity of being involved with the first stage, whilst we continue to rely on those of you who staunchly stood with us in it.  

VERY SOON we will be announcing the date of our primary fund-raiser, the "Inter Collegiate Batch Cricket Sixes", the inaugural encounter of which was worked off with tremendous success and the ever-present "Thora panache" last year; which has therefore encouraged us to host it again this year as well!

Thus, we step forward with the confidence of your strength and encouragement to back us, and your always generous contributions that form "the steady winds that throttle us forward" as we venture on to the next stage of the vision of S. Thomas' - to have a brand-smacking new pavilion & tuck shop building to stand proudly amongst the hallowed precincts of our beloved "school by the sea" for years of future generations to benefit ... to reach yet another FIRST, another milestone in the annals of educational history of this Island (perhaps indeed the Region)!!!
