Dear Teacher,

RE: TEACHER APPRECIATION PROGRAM – 31^st January 2009.

There are many thoughts that cross our minds and many pleasant memories that reflect on our faces, as we endeavour to put down in a few words, just how wonderful it has been for all of us in the Batch of ’87 to come together in saying THANK YOU to you.

You must know, dear Teacher, that the intention of inviting you over today was not to patronize you in any way or even to pat ourselves on the back for some special ‘event’ we put together in your honour, so that we could win your favour or have you shower your praise upon us. No! Not at all!

On the contrary, it was our simple way of saying “WE WARMLY WELCOME YOU” to be a part of us, our families & our lives, so that you would once again spend of yourself, (as you have done all those many years when you taught us) to at least share a special  day with us and in turn ‘give us’ the joy of sharing our lives with you.

When we last met regularly, we were but young men at 18 with the world at our feet, leaving our beloved Alma Mater to take on the world. Now you will be very proud to know Teacher that the values & lessons instilled in us through your kindness, dedication, toughness & discipline has in fact made us as adults, achieve most of those goals you helped us to foresee as possible.

So today, we together with our wives & children take this opportunity in letting you know just how wonderful a day it has been for us to see a smile on your face & share a happy moment/memory together.

We really never took the time to tell you, “YOU are very special & will always be to us – your students”.
